Our Pre-Construction phase was seamless and reassuring with Josh, where we were able to spend quite considerable time working through every element of our home and our selections with expert guidance. His knowledge of building as well as the administrative and costing side meant no question was left unanswered and we felt very prepared and informed going into the actually build.

Next we commenced the build under foreman Will whose complete dedication from the start reassured us that we were in good hands. We loved the ability to check in each day on the portal to see the progress of our home. We had very good communication with the team and they were extremely responsive to all our queries and requests. Not only that, but with the inevitable little challenges that arise when building, Will would call with the situation and deliver a few solutions at different prices along with the challenge, which made navigating the whole thing so much smoother. Where you often hear of handover being a limp over the finish line, months after plan and way over budget - we did handover on time and on budget (aside of a few little things we added ourselves). It really was a celebration and we felt both overjoyed with our home and sad to say goodbye to the team.

The build itself is AMAZING and we are extremely happy with the outcome, the dedication to getting the best out of each build is clear. Over the 6 months of our build it felt our relationship became more a friendship where we had a common goal which we were achieving together. Our neighbours were also very complimentary of TASS once we moved back into our home.

Why I chose TASS for my build?

I was incredibly worried about my neighbours. I love my neighbours and living in a terrace house means that they’re likely to hate me for renovating given we’re living so closely. I was very worried about disturbing them or creating any interference with their space. TASS seemed very prepared for this, mainly with a good communication plan and some ways to minimise the need to encroach into their properties. It turns out they didn’t disappoint. Even with some neighbours having to work from home during CoVID lockdown, they had nothing but adoration for the team (one neighbour engaging their services as a result). They were so pleased to be told about noisy works, when they would happen and for how long, so that they could plan their days around it, or on occasion TASS would work around the times the neighbours needed some quiet.

Another reason I chose TASS was that they didn’t flinch at the idea of building on such a difficult plot of land with limited access. Other builders I spoke to did a lot of head-shaking and wincing, but TASS just confidently said ‘we do this type of job all the time’ - Left me feeling like I could trust them.

TASS were realistic with their quote and put a lot of detail in, without me needing to ask for more. Not every builder does that. Some put the bare minimum in there, or incorrect details (clearly cut pastes from other jobs that absolutely didn’t apply). TASS details appeared accurate and thorough. It made me trust they'd thought it through and that perhaps the others hadn’t and I’d be hit with hidden costs.

TASS weren’t the cheapest, sure. But weighing it all up, I felt like a bigger team with proper back-end would mean that it wasn’t one guy trying to run the whole show, wasting building time on admin, accounts, pitching the next jobs etc as well as being on the tools. In the end I decided it was good to have a strong team with different roles. I think that was proved along the way. Even early on when the Supervisor Ryan was unwell, Ben stepped in to cover seamlessly while Ryan recovered. There were no delays, and Ben was fully across everything that was happening so no need to get him up to speed or feel worried he would miss anything. I was so pleased with that. And with the structure came a great deal of organisation which just meant it went according to plan. So, I think that was absolutely worth it.

TASS were extremely confident that they could deliver on time. This was another important thing to me. The last build I had done dragged on for a few extra months and drove everyone crazy. If we were going to be living elsewhere too, that could really add up in costs. So this one was big too. Promising $100 a day for every day over did make it seem unlikely they'd go over - and yep, they were bang on time.

One thing TASS didn’t sell to me during the tender process, was solutioning. TASS are very good at coming up with ways around things. While they didn’t directly tell me that this is something that they're good at, they actually demonstrated it when quoting because they came up with a few changes to the plans without prompting that were improvements, or a way to do something that at first was seen to be impossible.

I feel TASS lived up to what they promised and to what I expected. But they were better than I expected. I don’t think I expected such a friendly, fun, positive, can-do team. I don’t think I imagined how patient Ryan would be, or how willing he would be to listen to my ideas, and see if they’re possible. I appreciated that so much. He has a good eye and would know if something would work or not and be honest about it. He talked me out of a couple of my not-so-great ideas, and now I see the outcome, I realise he was absolutely right. But if I thought of something cool, he’d be enthused by it and jump on it to make it happen, which is really quite a good feeling as a client. Made me feel proud and also pleased he would work with it, even if it required extra effort.

So, I chose TASS because they convinced me that they were going to deliver on all those areas I was worried about, and not only did they do that, they did more than that. They have given me a house I’m really proud of, and also an experience I am really happy to have had.

Having known Tass for some time, but not having worked with them previously, they were invited to take part in a tender process for a project against two other builders. Tass presented a thorough breakdown of the inclusions, exclusions, allowances and scope of work in a detailed document that was both thorough and easy to decipher.

Their professionalism, communication skills and competitive pricing structure led to them winning the project. Following selection for the project, they were very accommodating and open with discussions as we resolved the finalised scope and contract price. Prior to the project commencing they were very clear about their chain of command, who would be responsible for what role, who would lead communication, who would handle finances, etc. and the appropriate introductions made prior to the project commencing. Once the project commenced (a class 2 multi-residential renovation project) they were quick on their feet to get things established and underway and when construction detailing for fire separation needed to be reviewed following the removal of existing linings exposing the existing structure of the building, they were at the front line, working alongside myself in resolving the numerous complex construction details in order to bring the existing building up to current fire separation standards.

They have demonstrated an honest appreciation of the client's budget requirements alongside a desire to achieve the highest quality outcome with the finished product. Whilst the project is ongoing, I would not hesitate to consider using Tass again on future projects, in particular those of a complex nature or those seeking a high calibre level of quality and attention to detail.

When it comes to building, the most successful projects we have been involved in are those that we have collaborated with the required professionals from the very inception of the project.

It was important to me to put pen to paper to talk about how wonderful our experience with TCG was. Building your ‘forever home’ is one of the biggest and potentially most stressful undertakings you can embark on in your lifetime. Choosing the right builder to do that is a huge decision. I am forever grateful to the friend of ours who recommended we talk to TCG, and so I want to pass on the favour to another family who might be thinking of building or renovating their home.

When my husband and I decided we were going to build our dream home, I knew finding a builder would not be an easy decision. My husband is in the construction industry and so has very high standards. He rejected several other companies before he met with Aaron from TCG. He came home from that meeting telling me that he had found our builders. From the first meeting with Aaron he could already tell that these guys were honest, highly skilled and reliable. TCG are builders who have pride in their work, who want their clients to be happy, who do things the right way rather than the quickest or cheapest way. Having said that, they do work with you to keep within your budget, providing options and cost saving methods that still result in the highest quality. Furthermore, dealing with them is just so effortless. They are just genuinely nice, decent people who have enthusiasm and love for what they do. I will actually really miss them once we don’t have regular contact anymore!

At the start of our journey we dealt mostly with Josh, the pre-construction manager. His attention to detail, patience and professionalism is second to none. Dealing with him in the pre-construction phase already filled us with so much confidence that we made the right decision. His communication was faultless. In fact that’s one thing that really stands out about Tass – the level of communication is amazing. There is never a time when you don’t know exactly what is going on and where things are up to. All the information about timelines, pricing, schedules and any changes are provided with plenty of notice and in detail. Josh worked with my husband on multiple iterations of the Scope of Works until we had things absolutely perfect. The timeline for our build was clearly set out. Everything in the contract was fully explained and we never encountered any unexpected surprises (except from Council issues that were out of TCG or anyone’s control!). When we did encounter issues with Council along the way, Josh had kept such meticulous records of all conversations and communications with Council that we had plenty of evidence and information to support our case. Without this, dealing with these issues would have been so much more challenging.

Moving on to the construction phase, we had the pleasure of dealing with director, Ben, construction manager, Ryan, and our foreman, Jye. Again I cannot fault the professionalism and reliability of these three. Ryan was always available to troubleshoot any concerns or issues. He is incredibly hard-working and highly knowledgeable. In fact, if an issue was ever encountered along the way with the build, Ryan would never come to us with just a problem. He would come to us with 2 or 3 solutions already planned out.

Our foreman, Jye, was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He worked collaboratively with us to achieve exactly what we envisaged for our home. Once again, his level of communication was faultless. We had daily updates on Buildertrend, weekly detailed emails, regular phone calls and text messages. We had regular meetings on site and despite both my husband and I having very busy work schedules, the team were able to arrange these meetings at a time that suited us. Jye was so friendly and approachable, and absolutely 100% reliable.

In addition to all the people I have mentioned, every single one of the TCG staff we interacted with was an absolute pleasure to deal with – from the apprentices to accounts team. The site was always kept clean, the neighbours were dealt with respectfully. Every single member of the team was friendly, polite and hard working. Furthermore, you can tell they are selective in the subcontractors they use to achieve their high standards. The Buildertrend platform Tass use is also phenomenal – giving daily updates and photos as your build progresses, laying out the schedule, and clearly recording any changes as the process goes along.

Had we not encountered issues with Council, our build would have been entirely stress-free. But when we did encounter these issues, TCG did not leave us to battle alone. They went into bat for us and helped us through the whole entire process even when other builders I’m sure would have said “this is beyond our scope, let us know when you have sorted it out”. TCG were flexible and adaptable and worked so hard to get us into our home as soon as possible despite multiple obstacles being thrown up. It really felt like we were working as a team and we had 100% confidence in them throughout the whole process.

Now that we are living in our home, we could not be happier. We have absolutely no hesitation in saying that TCG were the right builders and the best builders to complete our project. We would recommend them to any of our family or friends who are looking for reliable, highly skilled, hard working builders with attention to detail and a bucket of enthusiasm. We can’t thank them enough for turning our dream into reality!

We engaged TASS to do some major renovations following a devastating house fire. TASS where do we even start? The entire process has been just so refreshing, seamless and actually enjoyable! It has been clear from the start that TASS are not just your average construction company. Their honesty, reliability, communication and work ethos is exemplary!

Aaron went above and beyond to guide us in the preliminary stages as some of our challenges were unique, given our situation. Aaron was so patient and respectful with all our questions and worked tirelessly to formulate a scope of works that reflected our visions and budget.

We recently had Tass Construction Group build a new living, dining and kitchen wing to our existing house.
Working as a Rep in the construction industry myself I had literally hundreds of builders to choose from. Being their Rep and building product supplier and having close contact with their team daily made our decision easy. Seeing how smoothly their jobs progress, how friendly, engaging, enthusiastic and professional all of their staff are, they were the only builder for us.

After our first meeting with Ben and Aaron my wife's comments were "wow they know their stuff". I already knew that but it's very apparent they are on a different level to a lot of other builders / construction companies. We knew exactly what we were going to get after that first meeting.
Josh the office guru could literally see in his head how I wanted the finished product to look. He made some design decisions he knew would enhance the look and I trusted him to do so. So it came as no surprise the project ended up exactly how I had imagined.

During the 6 month or so build, our foreman Oliver "Ollie" made the whole process so smooth. We were still living at home as the new section was being built. Ollie and his team engaged daily and there was some great banter, he even became our 2 dogs second dad. We actually missed them being around when the job was finished.
Ryan the construction supervisors phone was always on if we ever needed anything. He also came to site regularly to oversee the project.
All of our neighbours made positive comments about the Tass staff and how thoughtful they always were with noise, deliveries and parking etc.

We are grateful to Tass Construction Group for taking on our project and realising our architect's wonderful design for our kitchen and living space, bringing about an amazing transformation of our home, on time and on budget. The Tass team approached the job with a very positive attitude and worked constructively with our architect and us to overcome challenges and problems as they arose. Tass were patient and helpful with all the decisions we needed to make along the way and very accommodating in taking on many extra requests as the job went on. The team were always polite and cheerful, including the subbies. We would recommend TCG to others.

Ben and Aaron, what can we say about the Tass Construction group that hasn’t already been said by so many satisfied clients. On meeting Ben and Aaron for the first time we were impressed with their presentation and up to date knowledge of the industry. Right from the start we felt that we could discuss all aspects of our renovations with ease and no matter how complex we felt in solving certain issues Tass always came up with a solution. As promised work was commenced and completed on time even though we added so many extras along the way. Our top level was totally re-vamped to maximise the 180 degrees of water views and to give our home a much needed street appeal. The project included new colour bond roofing due to leakage problems, large covered veranda areas, shadow line ceilings/skirting, kitchen/servery, butler’s pantry, two bathrooms, and a car hoist in the garage area. Jacob the foreman who was assigned to our build was so committed to the project and any challenge put to him was handled professionally and courteously. We found the whole team at Tass friendly and approachable and thank them all for the hard work and effort put into our project. We have had some major storms since completion and being in a High Wind area all our problems with water seepage into the second level have now been resolved. Ben and Aaron through their network of contacts and expertise have solved this major issue - ‘No more leaks’. Thank you. We are extremely happy with the quality of workmanship that the Tass Group has produced and appreciated all their tradies expertise to ensure a great finish to our project, which in our minds was somewhat of a difficult build. Everyone in the Tass team are a great bunch of guys and being semi-retired I enjoyed being around them and the down time with barbecues. We would highly recommend Tass Construction without hesitation with their strong work ethics and can see them being one of the most sought-after builders within the Sutherland Shire.

TCG recently completed a major and extensive renovation of our family home in Marrickville which involved transforming our very old and run-down, dark and disjointed house from a single story three bedroom house to a modern and light-filled, two storey, 4 bedroom home with an attic family room and loft above the rear garage. Words cannot at all describe how thrilled we are with our new family home and importantly how smoothly the whole build process was. Being such a huge commitment and decision to renovate our home especially with a young child (and first time renovators), we were very much wary and conscious of selecting the right builder who we could trust, work collaboratively with and who would listen to our needs, wants and concerns. The team at TCG absolutely went above and beyond this. We researched and met with dozens of builders and mulled for ages on who we should go with, but Aaron and Ben stood out with their professionalism, client-focussed approach, humour, genuine can-do personality and lastly we also went with our own gut feeling. Both were never more than a phone call away. All our questions, ideas, concerns, emails and texts (at sometimes ungodly hours) and our own hundred and one last minute changes, were always promptly answered and warmly accepted, with never more than a blink of an eye. Almost nothing was ever a problem if they couldn’t do it. Along the way Ben and Aaron offered suggestions and creative ideas (such as extra storage and alternative sizing of spaces to suit our needs) which they certainly did not have to do and was probably easier for them not to suggest or do, but they did! We were kept informed the whole way through our 7 month build and coupled with Aaron and Ben’s super organisational skills, never at all did we feel stressed or worried which is what many others had warned us about from their own renovation experiences (with other builders). A simple and succinct way to describe how our experience went with TCG is - it was as if the TASS team were building their own family home. We honestly could not have asked for a better bunch of guys to build our family home. We love our new home so much for the change it has bought onto our lives but the absolute icing on the cake for us is that each time we look around us, we know that every single piece and element of the house was created and built by truly talented, hard-working and good people. All the many trades that TCG used, from the carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, floorers, tilers, joinery specialists, labourers (the list goes on), were wonderful, friendly and dedicated to their jobs and importantly the quality of workmanship was second to none, making the whole major renovation look so simple (which we are sure was not, given the radical transformation). We truly feel so grateful and blessed to have the TASS team build our family home and would absolutely do it all again. It was actually sad to see the team go. We will just have to find another house to renovate! To Ben, Aaron and all the dedicated crew at TCG (all the J’s! We had a big project with lots of issues with another builder. The boys came long and literally saved the day. The entire project was done with care, commitment and pride. Their customer service and after care is a new standard in the industry. I have a lot of respect for everything these boys do and how professional they are. The workmanship is great and the team is outstanding. We felt very sad to see the boys go as we were so accustomed to having them in our lives. I’d recommend them to my friends and family and wish them an incredible amount of success in their business. They really are a special bunch.

We recently finished a large renovation / rebuild project with TASS and the experience was first class. The project finished on time & budget and from beginning to end the TASS team, led by Aaron and Ben and our Foreperson Luke, have been utmost professionals. The entire team take pride in their quality work and the end product speaks to this. We loved the fact TASS presented ideas and solutions and really added value to the process. TASS’ high level of integrity and professional conduct was not only recognised by us, but also our neighbours who provided such positive feedback throughout the 7 month process. The first day we met Aaron and Ben Tass to discuss our project we knew they were the team we wanted to work with. They might not be aware of this, but we'd almost signed on the dotted line with another builder. However their knowledgeable, professional, upbeat approach was just what we’d been looking for. From day one, they did exactly what they said they would. They never missed a deadline, were always open to ideas and never shied away from us rethinking what we wanted. We can’t imagine there could be a more positive, enthusiastic, committed construction business to work with, and if that’s not enough they’re just all round nice guys too! Undertaking major renovations is challenging at the best of times, but even more so when you are expecting your third child within weeks of the proposed completion date! But we needn’t have worried as Aaron, Ben and our Foreman Josh, guided us through the process with confidence and good humour.

With minimal experience of the industry - and particularly as a female - it can be intimidating to deal with trades for basic works, let alone a major renovation. Trying to explain or understand things without knowledge of the correct terminology is not always easy, but Ben and Aaron were not only patient but so courteous and respectful that I always felt that we were on the same page.

We also felt very comfortable dealing with every single member of the Tass team and associated trades when visiting the site, and found them to be extremely competent, trustworthy and reliable and just genuinely nice guys.

Aaron, Ben and Josh were always helpful in pointing us in the right direction in terms of suppliers or design and also conscientious in supporting the overall “look” we were hoping to maintain/achieve. Any queries we had were answered swiftly by Josh onsite, or in conjunction with Aaron and Ben when necessary.

The attention to detail and execution of every aspect of our reno was second-to-none. When asked to complete a defect list, we could barely find a single thing. And anything we did find had already been noted on Josh and Ben’s lists… plus about 10 more of their own (minuscule) defects that we had not noticed (and possibly never would have!)

The project management end of the build was also excellent and Tass were actually one week AHEAD of schedule throughout. Such exceptional planning and monitoring made the whole process not only seamless but actually enjoyable!!

You know you have awesome builders when you find yourselves imagining an even bigger build elsewhere with them further down the track... Thanks so much to everyone at Tass; we loved every minute and couldn’t be happier with our new home. It has been utterly life-changing.

TASS Construction Group have recently completed a renovation for us for our 2 bedroom apartment in Cronulla. The renovation was to transform our almost original 70’s style apartment into a soft coastal apartment that complemented it’s surrounds and was both functional as well as beautiful. We had no experience in renovating and we approached with caution and some trepidation. The TASS brothers made us feel instantly at ease. What made us decide to proceed with TASS was their professionalism, their enthusiasm, their willingness to help and guide us and most importantly that they were all about quality of work. They assured us with “don’t worry, we will do a good job for you”. Many people warned us about the renovation process and how overwhelming and arduous that it can become, that wasn’t our experience at all. We enjoyed the process, all of our questions were quickly answered, both Aaron and Ben were accommodating to our changes during the renovation and if anything came up they said “don’t worry, we’ll look after it” and they followed through. Aaron, Ben and their team have done a fantastic job with the apartment including excellent management of the budget and schedule. The TASS team were courteous and professional throughout the project and they worked with energy and treated our home like it was their own. We had a concern about upsetting our nearby neighbours however, we heard only compliments of how professional they all were on site and the surrounds. The quality of the build, fit and finish is exemplary and the result is a testament to the high standards set by TASS Construction Group. Like they said; we didn’t have to worry and not only did they do a good job they did an amazing job – thank you Aaron & Ben. We recently worked with Tass Construction Group on a renovation and restoration project on the ground floor of our house.
